Organization, staff, and students

At the close of 2023, there were 450 students, including 40 PhD candidates, enrolled in our 4 courses of study. CDE’s head office in Bern had 93 staff members from around 16 disciplines. In our country offices, including the offices of our institutional partners in CDE’s focus regions, the total number of team members was 163.

Staff

At the close of 2023, CDE had 93 staff members from around 16 disciplines at the head office in Bern. Our offices in Laos and Myanmar had a total of 26 employees, and our institutional partners CETRAD in Kenya and WLRC in Ethiopia had a total of 137 staff members.

PhD programme International Graduate School (IGS) North-South: 96 students in total, including 18 enrolled at international partner institutions, 47 enrolled at the University of Bern, and 31 enrolled at other Swiss universities
